Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 15, 2026

This policy explains what data LexMastery collects through this app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It should be read alongside our Terms of Service.

Information We Collect

Account information: name, email address, and password (or your Google/Apple account identifier if you sign in that way).

Study & progress data: your track and exam date, answers, scores, readiness ring history, streaks, study plan settings, and written or oral submissions.

Voice & audio data: if you use oral stations or talk to Jessica, we process the audio you record to transcribe and mark your response.

Device & usage data: device type, operating system, app version, crash logs, and general usage analytics.

Payment data: subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play; we receive purchase confirmation and entitlement status, not your card details.

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and personalize your study plan, drills, mocks, and readiness score.
  • Mark written and oral submissions and generate feedback.
  • Send study reminders, streak alerts, and weekly reports you have opted into.
  • Diagnose crashes, secure accounts, and improve app performance.
  • Respond to support requests and communicate account or policy changes.

AI Processing & Voice Features

Written stations, oral stations, and Shadow Tutor are powered by third-party AI and voice-synthesis providers acting as our data processors. Text or audio you submit is sent to these providers to generate a transcript, a marking response, or a spoken reply, under contractual terms that prohibit them from using your data to train their own models. We do not sell voice recordings or use them for advertising.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Service providers who host our infrastructure, process AI/voice requests, send notifications, or provide analytics and crash reporting.
  • The App Store or Play Store, to verify purchases and entitlements.
  • Authorities, where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of LexMastery, our users, or the public.

Data Retention

We keep account and study data for as long as your account is active. Audio recordings from oral stations are retained only as long as needed to produce and let you review your transcript and mark, then deleted. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 90 days, except where we must retain it to comply with law or resolve disputes.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to minimize risk and respond quickly to any incident.

Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Update most account information directly in the app, manage notification preferences in Settings, or contact us to exercise these rights. Residents of the EEA, UK, and California have specific statutory rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and the CCPA; we honor requests from all users on the same basis.

Children's Privacy

LexMastery is built for aspiring solicitors and lawyers preparing for professional exams and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy as our product or legal obligations change. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
